KATHMANDU, Nov 11: Thirty players have been selected for Nepal´s Women Football Team which will participate in the 11th South Asian Games. The players were selected from among 50 players who had been selected in the second round and had been preparing for the game under the training of ANFA, as per the directives of the National Sports Council.


The list of the selected players is as follows:

Goalkeepers - Asmita Khawas, Bina Sharma, Namita Dali, Sapana Lama

Defenders - Bhagawati Thapa, Goma Regmi, Manamaya Magar, Indira Kunwar, Deepa Chhetri, Tulasa Singh, Usha Bhandari, Goma Thapa, Roshni Lama

Midfielders - Samasya Kandel, Sajana Rana, Niru Thapa, Tej Gurung, Laxmi Poudel, Nisha Dewan, Meera Maharjan, Kavita Dhimal, Pramila Rai

Forwards - Anu Lama, Jamuna Gurung, Chandra Bhandari, Deepa Adhikari, Ganga Gurung, Binita Shrestha, Sudha Thokar, Ranjana Suruchi


Prithvi enter basketball quarterfinals

KATHMANDU, Nov 11: The senior girls´ team of Prithvi School entered the quarterfinals of the Fourth Valley Public Inter-school Basketball Championship on Wednesday. They defeated the hosts Valley Public ´B´ 15-8. Prithvi will face Deep Jyoti in the next match.

The other quarterfinal matches in the senior girls´ section will be between Valley Public ´A´ and Ganesh, Clinton Public and Nerik, Daffodil and Bishnumati.

In the senior boys´ section, Valley Public ´A´ are scheduled to take on Golden Peak while Daffodil will face the defending champions Gyan Niketan. Likewise, other quarterfinal matches will be between Kathmandu Xavier and Gaurishankar, Greenland and Innovative.

All the quarterfinal matches will be held on Thursday.
