TAPLEGUNJ, Nov 19: A poacher died in Kanchanjanga Conservation Area of Taplejung district when his gun was accidentally fired at him on Wednesday.
Dhan Bahadur Limbu, son of Hem Bahadur Limbu of Lelepa VDC-2, was killed on the spot when he was in the forest for poaching animals, said Taplejung Area Police Office.
His body has been carried in Taplejung Hospital for postmortem right today, said Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bimal Basnet.
Though hunting animals and chopping trees in the area is banned, poachers rampantly kill wild beasts at the area.
