Begam spared for publicly admitting mistake: Rawal

CHARIKOT/ PARSA, Nov 30: Home Minister Bhim Rawal on Monday said that the government did not take any action against State Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Karima Begam as she publicly admitted her mistake.
State Minister Begum had slapped then Parsa Chief District Officer (CDO) Durga Prasad Bhandari for allegedly sending a malfunctioning vehicle to pick her up from the Simra Airport some three weeks ago.
Addressing a function organized by Buddhi Man Memorial Foundation, Minister Rawal said that the state minister was planning to speak publicly about the incident. “No action was taken against her as she has publicly realized the mistake,” said Rawal.
Meanwhile, agitating civil servants in Parsa district returned to their works on Monday after the local administration assured security to the government employees and also to take action against state minister Begam for her act.
The agitating employees had padlocked their offices and halted all work since last Thursday.
A meeting of local leaders, security officials, representatives of civil servants´ organizations and civil society leaders was held at the initiative of Parsa CDO Shambhu Koirala to address the employees´ demand.
According to a participant in the meeting, CDO Koirala has assured that Begum would be arrested as per the existing laws of the country
