  BUSINESS BRIEFS: Coblenzer beers in market

KATHMANDU, July 29: Sthapit and Schlau Pvt. Ltd in collaboration with United Breweries, introduced Coblenzer beer which is brewed in the style of Germany´s Pilsener and Marzen.

A press statement issued on Thursday says the newly launched beer is exclusively brewed by German master brewer.


Coblenzer, a premium beer, is distinctly natural compared to the beers available in the market, the statement says.

Bottled in 650 ml, Coblenzer Pilsener and Coblenzer Märzen have been priced at Rs 145 and Rs 155 per bottle respectively.

A brewing craft of master brewer, Thomas Schlau; first class raw material from Germany; natural ingredients hops, malt and water as stipulated by strict German purity law; Nepal´s natural spring water; brewed longer for full flavor are the special characteristics.

IME ties up with Kyodia Japn for money transfer

International Money Express (IME) in agreement with Kyodai Japan Limited is starting a remittance service in Nepal. According to a press statement issued by the company, IME and Kyodia Japan will be working toward the transfer of money of Nepalese working in Japan through the latter´s offices in various locations in Japan. People can receive money sent from Japan through more than 800 IME counters across the country and also through various commercial banks, the statement further said.

Laxmi Bank launches One Account, One Tree Campaign

Laxmi Bank launched its One Account, One Tree campaign officially in Kirtipur. A press statement issued by the bank said that the Bank planted about 1,000 saplings in Kirtipur in coordination with Society for Ecological Restoration-Nepal, a Kathmandu based NGO.
According to the press statement various people joined the bank´s employees to participate in the program. "Laxmi Bank´s pledge of One Account, One Tree will see the Bank planting a tree for every Green Savings account opened with Laxmi Bank," said the statement. Green Savings is Nepal´s first eco-conscious savings account that encourages environmentally friendly paper-less and commute-free personal banking habits in return for which the Bank offers an attractive interest of 7.5 percent per annum on daily balance.

LG Jazz now in Nepal

LG has launched new series of LCD television. The newest Jazz series of LG television looks elegant with white color border and full white back said, said the press staement issued by the company. Jazz -model no. 26LU11UR features anti dazzling system that is said to decrease the eye fatigue of the viewer, the statement further added. The Jazz LCD is also equipped with 300W PMPO sound output, USB 2.0 connectivity, DivX compatibility and PC connectivity and 60000:1 contrast ratio.

NEFFA awards distributed

Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA) has conferred Trade Facilitation Award Commerce on Secretary Purushottam Ojha. The award, which has been established in commemoration of Namgyal Lama, former president of the association, was given away on the occasion of 16th Cargo day on Thursday. Similarly, Rabindra Man Singh, managing director of Everest De Cargo and Shyam Prasad Dahal, director of Customs Department, was awarded with NEFFA annual prizes. Qatar Airways, Thai Airways and Gulf Air have been declared first, second and third largest cargo carriers from Nepal during the year 2009 under the online category. Under the offline, Emirates Sky Cargo has been honored with the NEFFA annual award.
