UPENDRA LAMICHHANE

SIMARA, Feb 24: Both the finalists, Laxmi Hyundai Manang Marshyangdi Club (MMC) and Sahara Club of Pokhara will be eying for the title on Friday in the title decider of Magic Moments Third Simara Gold Cup Football Tournament under way in Simara, Bara.

MMC recently won the Aaha Gold Cup title in Pokhara.

Similarly, Sahara after beating A division outfits Himalayan Sherpa and Jawalakhel Youth Club in the previous matches has also set ambitious plan of defeating MMC and taking home the title.

MMC coach Hari Om Shrestha said that his side had arrived in Simara to win the title. "We are not here just to play football but to return home with the title and are confident of beating Sahara in the final," said Shrestha, whose team defeated Armed Police Force (APF) and Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) in previous matches.

Sahara´s coach Kiran Shrestha said that his team was capable of beating any team. The Pokhara based side had defeated Jawalakhel in the pre-quarterfinal, ANFA Academy in the quarterfinal and Himalayan Sherpa in the semifinal.

"The boys have played according to the plan so far and have achieved victory. And if everything goes as planned no one can stop us from clinching victory,” Shrestha of Sahara said.

As said by MMC coach Shrestha his side would come up with offensive strategy. Skipper Shiva Shrestha and African player Jacob shall take the charge of midfield while Buddha Chemjong and Rajkumar Ghising will take the job of attacking. African players Jamboline and Stephen are the defenders.

Sahara is optimistic from its midfielders Bishnu KC and Govinda Thapa while African recruit Ezee Collins will be given the role of striker.
