  Minister Shrestha recuperating after surgery

KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha who had recently had operation for waning vertebra is in need of rest for two more months.

He has been regularly consulting orthopedic Dr Suraj Bajracharya following the operation a month ago in Japan.

Personal secretary to the Foreign Minister, Sushan Karmacharya said Minister Shrestha will not attend any public program for two months due to the ailment. The Minister is undergoing MRI every two weeks now, he added.

Also the Vice-Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Minister Shrestha has been carrying out Ministry works from his own residence.

However, he reached his Office at Singha Durbar to meet Deputy Foreign Minister of Japan yesterday.

Due to the sickness, Minister Shrestha will not be attending the UN conference on human rights to be held in Switzerland this week, it is learnt.
