KATHMANDU, Feb 25: Gupteshwar Youth Club, Bhardeu on Saturday advanced into the final of the Sunakothi Cup Open Lalitpur District-wide Football Tournament being held in the capital.

Gupteshwar defeated Khumaltar Youth Club, Khumaltar 2-1 with a goal each from Sajan Thapa and Ranjan Bista. Sunil Basnet scored for Khumaltar. Everyday Football Club and Bageshwari Youth Club will meet each other in another semifinal on Sunday.

NEC starts with win

KATHMANDU: Nepal Engineering College (NEC) A team started the NECOS Martyr Gangalal Memorial Running Shield Basketball Tournament in a winning note on Saturday. In the match played at Dasharath Stadium Covered hall, Nepal Engineering College edged past Nepal College of Information and Technology A 18-16. Altogether eight teams are participating in the tournament.

Manaslu lifts men´s volleyball

KATHMANDU: Manaslu College on Saturday lifted men´s volleyball title in the Third Angel´s Heart Sports Festival. Manaslu beat Classic College 20-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-23. Apollo School finished in the third position. In the women´s volleyball Angel´s Heart finished first while Happy Homes Children Academy lifted junior boys´ basketball title.

Siddhartha Vanasthali, Mount Glory win titles

KATHMANDU: Siddhartha Vanasthali and Mount Glory on Saturday lifted the senior and junior boys´ title of Second Arunodaya Inter-school Basketball Tournament. In the senior boys´ Siddhartha Vanasthali edged past New Zenith 25-20 with 11 points from Narayan Khadka. In junior boys´ Mount Glory thrashed Babylon School 34-10 as Shyam Thapa scored 14 points. The five day long tournament featured six teams each in both categories.
