KATHMANDU, March 16: The Greater Lumbini National Development Directive Committee has urged one and all to not make unnecessary comments regarding the Nepal visit of United Nations´ Secretary General Ban-Ki-moon, saying that Mr. Ban is arriving Nepal by completing international standards and processes.
Different media on Friday have disseminated news quoting Nepali Congress (NC) President Sushil Koirala as saying that this was not an appropriate time for Ban to visit Nepal prior to the completion of ongoing peace process.
Member of Committee Dr Minendra Rijal, who is also the NC central leader, told reporters after a meeting of the Committee held today in the capital that all should take Ban´s visit positively by not pouring unnecessary comments though some remarks on Secretary General´s visit were natural.
It is learnt that the statements made by NC President Koirala Ban´s visit were also discussed at the meeting. Rijal said that the meeting has also decided to take initiative for making Ban´s visit a grand success and fruitful.
"The government has already extended invitation to Ban to attend an international conference to be held at Lumbini, birthplace of the Lord Buddha. Ban´s visit has been fixed for fourth week of April."
Committee´s Coordinator and Chairman UCPN (Maoist) Pushpa Kamal Dahal presided over the meeting.
