KHOTANG, April 15: The detainees who are kept in police detention at the Khotang District Police Office have demanded that they be remanded to prison.
The detainees have complained that they are deprived of the services and facilities due to the prisoners as they have been still kept under detention despite three months since the order was issued to remand them to prison.
They have complained that they were facing various problems like shortage of toilet, bathroom and food and accommodation also in police detention.
The detainees have filed an affidavit at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)´s sub-regional office at Khotang demanding that they be remanded to prison from detention and not to deprive them of services and facilities they are entitled to.
Nine people are under police detention at the District Police Office in the absence of a prison in the district.
