RAJBIRAJ, April 17: Some two dozen people were injured in a road accident in Saptari district Tuesday morning.
The accident took place at Pharseth-7 when mini-truck (Ko 1 Kha 3543) carrying a marriage procession fell off the road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, said police. The mini truck was heading towards Bhagawatpur from Maleth-3 in the district.
Of the injured, condition of Dhurba Kumar Mandal of Bhagawatpur-9 and Tek Narayan Yadav of Bishariya-5 is serious and they have been sent to Dharan for treatment, according to family members of the injured.
Mini truck driver, Bijay Mandal, has been absconding after the incident.
The mini-truck was returning towards Bhagawatpur this morning after concluding the marriage ceremony between Shiva Nandan Mandal of Bhagawatpur-8 and Rabina Mandal of Malath-3 on Monday.
