KATHMANDU, April 17: Practical Action on Tuesday launched a job portal -- www.rojgari.com.
Launching web portal amidst a program in the capital on Tuesday, Dr Man Bahadur Bishwokarma, director general of the Department of Labor, expressed hope that the portal could work as a bridge between employers and job seekers.
Practical Action designed and developed the portal in partnership with merojob.com with the financial support of the European Union.
According to officials of merojob.com, anyone looking for job can upload their professional details in the portal by opening a user account free of cost. The portal also encourages vocational training centers to promote their trainees by marketing the information about their trainees to help them in job placement.
Speaking at the program, Achyut Luitel, county director of Practical Action, said the web portal was designed to bring job seekers and employers under a single platform by facilitating easy, quick and reliable information sharing among the concerned stakeholders.
The web portal aims to bring thousand of competent candidates from around the country under a single hub and help employers in their need of recruiting employees. Likewise, employers can also directly contact job seekers based on the information obtained from the portal.
