KHOTANG, April 18: President of the Nepali Congress (NC), Sushil Koirala has said that national consensus government will be formed soon and the NC will lead that government.
Koirala expressed the view after laying the foundation stone of BP Memorial Building in Diktel on Wednesday.
He said that the NC parliamentary party leader, Ram Chandra Paudel, will lead the national consensus government as per the party statute.
Koirala further said that serious discussions among the big parties are going on to promulgate the new constitution before May 27 and also expressed the confidence that they will reach a consensus at the earliest.
He said that army integration and constitution writing processes had been delayed until recently but added that the peace process will pick up speed in the coming days towards positive direction.
Central treasurer Chitra Lekha Yadav, central members Bal Bahadur KC, Dr. Shashanka Koirala, Bal Krishna Khand, Ram Kumar Chaudhary, Deepak Giri, Dhanraj Gurung, Gagan Thapa, Badri Pandey, among others were also present at the programme.
