NC instructs its lawmakers not to leave country before May 27

KATHMANDU, April 18: Nepali Congress (NC) has issued a whip with immediate effect, instructing all its lawmakers not to leave the country before May 27, the deadline for promulgation of the new constitution.
In a release signed by NC Chief Whip Laxman Prasad Ghimire, the party has asked the lawmakers to be in the country till that time, stating that Constituent Assembly (CA) meetings are likely to convene anytime, with the CA´s term expiry deadline fast approaching.
The party has also instructed its lawmakers to compulsorily be present in the CA meeting scheduled for April 23 and has alerted them that CA meetings could be held frequently after that date.
