  At least 20 injured in bus accident

SINDHUPALCHOWK, April 22: At least 20 people have been injured, two critically, in a bus accident in the district on Sunday.

 Of the injured, Ganga Shrestha, 81, of Ghumthang-4 and Pavitra Gurung, 30, of Pedku-4 were seriously hurt, informed police.

They have been sent to Dhulikhel Hospital, Kavre for further treatment.

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 5156) en-route to Kathmandu from Ghumthang met with an accident at Eklebesi of Maneshwara.

The other injured have been undergoing treatment in Barhabise and at the Sadabahar Community Hospital in Khadichaur.

The overloaded bus lost control and most of the passengers were injured after they jumped from the roof of the bus, informed police inspector Balaji Rayamajhi at the area police office.

The passengers were returning to the capital after celebrating Mata Tirtha Aunsi, he said.
