KATHMANDU, April 28: Santosh Moktan of Laxmi Narayan Club won men’s singles title of the Open Badminton Tournament organized by Baneshwar Club on Saturday.
Moktan defeated Robin Kandangwa of the host club 21-15, 25-23 in the men’s singles final. Later, Moktan teamed up with Anil Thamsuhang to beat Ram Prajapati and Umesh Gurung of Handigaun 21-15, 21-14 in the final of men’s doubles.
New Diamond, Dhankuta in final
KATHMANDU: New Diamond Academy and Dhankuta District Sports Development Committee will lock horns in the final of the First Chandeshwari Cup Open Volleyball Tournament. In the semifinal match played on Saturday, New Diamond thrashed Chandeshwari Yuwa Club 25-9, 25-7, 25-6.
In another semifinal, Dhankuta overcame Gokul Ganga Higher Secondary School 25-11, 25-5, 22-25, 25-11. The match for the third position was halted due to poor light.
