RSS

KANCHANPUR, April 30: Indefinite Kanchanpur district strike called by different political parties and organizations demanding ´indivisible far-west´ has been called off from Monday.

The strike was called to protest the UCPN (Maoist) proposal of 10 provinces on state-restructuring.

The agitating sides have said that they would prepare agendas for further program by holding discussions with the indigenous and Tharu communities.

Issuing a join press statement today, the UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, CPN (ML) and other parties active in the district including civil society have said that the strike was postponed to prepare common agendas after organizing a round table conference with the stakeholders.

Life in the district has returned to normalcy after the postponement of the strike.
