  Five VDC secretaries face action

BARDIBAS, April 30: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has initiated action against secretaries of five various VDCs in Mahottari district on the charge of their involvement in financial irregularities.

According to the District Administration Office, Mahottari, the CIAA started action against them amidst the rising public complaints of corruption at local bodies.

Chief District Officer at the district, Pradeep Raj Kandel said action has been initiated against Shyam Sundar Prasad Singh, Secretary of Bathnaha and Bhatoliya VDCs, Devendra Chaudhary of Meghnath Gorhanna VDC, Mohan Bhagat of Khopi and Ramgopalpur VDCs, Shatrughan Mishra of Banoli Danoli VDC and Dev Narayan Yadav of Hariharpur Harinamrika VDC.

They are facing action for their involvement in corruption under various topics including social security, allowances to senior citizens from the ethnic communities, government grants, among others.

He added that the CIAA has also started investigation against 22 other VDC secretaries on the same charge.
