JAIPUR/HYDERABAD, India, May 2: Delhi Daredevils beat Rajasthan Royals by a comprehensive margin of six wickets in their Indian Premier League match on Tuesday.
The Daredevils chased down the 142-run target, with ease, in 15.2 overs as skipper Virender Sehwag played a swashbuckling knock of 73 off just 38 balls.
Sehwag was ably supported by English batsman Kevin Pietersen who struck 36.
Batting first, Royals put on board 141 runs for the lost of six wickets. Skipper Rahul Dravid top-scored with 57 while Ajinkya Rahane made 42.
In another match played early in the day, Deccan Chargers beat Pune Worriers by 13 runs.
For the Hyderabad team, skipper Kumar Sangakarra top-scored with 82 off 52 balls. Australian Cameroon White smashed 74 off 45 balls helping Charges to post a formidable total of 186.
In reply, Worriers were all out for 173 for five in allotted 20 overs. Skipper Saurav Ganguly made 45, Steve Smith struck 47 not out and Robin Uthappa scored 26.
This was only a second victory for Chargers in nine matches of this year’s IPL. They stand at the bottom in the points table.
