DHANGADI, May 6: Normal life continued to be affected in the far-western region, with the banda enforced by locals entering the 10th straight day.
Transport services have come to a grinding halt and industries and marketplaces have remained closed due to the banda called to press for an ´undivided far-west.´
The strike enforcers have been rallying on the road to ensure a complete shutdown. The region is facing a shortage of daily essentials like ration and medicines.
The banda enforcers have been protesting the 10-province proposal, floated by the UCPN (Maoist) for state restructuring.
Gopal Deuba, coordinator of the strike enforcing committee, has said they will not halt the strike unless their demand is met.
