JANAKPUR, May 8: Dhanusha district shutdown called by the Mithila Struggle Committee has paralyzed the normal life in the district on Tuesday, the eighth consecutive day of the strike.
The Committee has organized the indefinite strike in the district after five persons were killed in a bomb explosion at Ramananda Chowk in Janakpur while they were staging a sit-in, demanding Mithila State in the new constitution.
Transportation services, factories, industries, educational institutions and markets have been completely closed in the district due to the strike. The banda enforcers have shut down the government offices as well.
The banda enforcers have warned of stern protest if their demand was not addressed.
