KATHMANDU, May 8: The Standing Committee member of Unified CPN (Maoist) Dev Gurung has said that the Baidya faction will not accept the constitution that is prepared by the leaders of the three major political parties by sitting in a ´dark room´.

Speaking at an interaction organised by Media Vision Nepal here on Tuesday, he said the Baidya Faction of the UCPN-Maoist was not ready to accept such constitution.

He also warned of burning down the constitution if the constitution was failure to address people´s expectations.

Leader of the CPN (UML), Bharatmohan Adhikari, accused Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai of expanding the cabinet by going against the spirit of the five-point agreement signed to form the national unity government.

He added that Dr Bhattarai has divided the ministries to the United Democratic Madhesi Front´s leaders unilaterally as per the four-point agreement signed by the UCPN-Maoist and the UDMF while forming the a Bhattarai-led majority government.

UML leader Adhikari also urged the political parties not to spend more time regarding the number, name, and delineation of the provinces as there was no alternative to federalism for the prosperous new Nepal, adding that the new constitution should incorporate the concerns of women, Dalit, and Madhesi people´s social, education and other rights.

Chairman of the Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Nepal, Upendra Yadav charged the leaders of the three major political parties for trying to write the constitution rather than from the Constituent Assembly.
