KATHMANDU, May 12: Chairman of Sadbhawana Party (SP) Rajendra Mahato took oath of office and secrecy as Health and Population Minister on Saturday.
Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mahato in the presence of President Ram Baran Yadav at the latter´s office in Shital Niwas.
Mahato took oath of office and secrecy a week after his appointment in the new cabinet formed as part of the five-point deal reached among three major parties and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) on May 4.
Mahato could not take oath of office and secrecy on May 5 as he was in Janakpur to take part in the fifth general convention of SP.
