TANAHU, May 16: Five people were killed and one injured when a car plunged into the Trishuli river in Jogimara of Dhading Wednesday night.

According to Dhading Police, the car, on its way to Kathmandu from Pokhara, skidded off the road and plunged 150 meters off the highway into Trishuli river at around nine at night.

Krishna Duwadi, Rabindra Duwadi and Sanjeev Duwadi of Chainpur, Ram Kumar Shrestha of Benighat and Ramesh Prasad Dhungana of Lekhnath were killed while Dipak Gurung of Dhola-7, Dhading was injured.

Gurung was taken to Gajuri Hospital for treatment, said Binod Ghimire, inspector with Gajuri Police .
