Govt, agitating Muslim alliance talks inconclusive

KATHMANDU, May 19: Talks held between the government and the agitating National Muslim Struggle Alliance (NMSA) has ended inconclusively on Saturday.
The talks held at the peace ministry in Singha Durbar could not forge any agreement as participating Muslim leaders insisted that talks be held at the top level.
Deputy Prime Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula, who leads the three-member government negotiation team, was not present tody´s talks.
After the meeting, Pun said the talks are going positively and that an agreement would be forged, addressing their demands point-wisely, in the next meeting, when Sitaula will also be present.
NMSA is a grouping of Muslim lawmakers from various political parties and Muslim rights organizations lobbying for guarantee of the Muslim community’s rights in the new constitution.
