TANAHUN, May 23: The media in Tanahun district have boycotted editorials and news on Wednesday in protest against the attack on journalists in different places of the country, including in the capital Kathmandu, in course of the three-day nation-wide shutdown enforced by the Indigenous Nationalities Joist Struggle Committee.

They took this decision also to protest the verbal abuse and manhandling of journalists by the banda organizers in Tanahun district also.

A emergency meeting of local media persons and media houses here on Tuesday evening took the decision to that effect. The meeting was held at the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), Tanahun District chapter.

FNJ Tanahun president Prem Prasad Paudel said the meeting flayed the attack and abuse on journalists in the district and decided not to carry news, interviews and photos about the shutdown in Tanahun district.
