KATHMANDU, May 23: Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Krishna Sitaula on Wednesday said he would step down from the government.
"I am no longer in the cabinet from today. It is up to the party to decide whether to stay in the government but there is no relevance of me staying in the government," Sitaula, who is the general secretary of Nepali Congress, told journalists at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Wednesday.
Sitaula´s announcement comes a day after he, in his capacity as the law minister, registered a bill seeking extension of the CA term at the parliament secretariat.
