  Far-west banda re-starts  
 

DIL BAHADUR CHHANTYAL

DHANGADI, May 24: Proponents of an undivided far-west have resumed their general shutdown from Thursday. Earlier, they had enforced banda in the region continuously for three weeks  to press for their demand.

The protesters have started fresh shutdown accusing UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal of ignoring the agreement they had reached with the government in the presence of political leaderships. The new protest come a day after an agreement was reached to carve out a Tharu state based on the communitiy´s ethnic identity.
