KATHMANDU, June 2: Ang Tshiring Sherpa and Krishna Narayan Singh Thapa clinched the title of Ncell Amateur Golf League at the Gokarna Golf Club on Saturday.
Sherpa took home the gross section award scoring a total of 168 points. Similarly, Thapa accumulated 224 points to lift the nett category prize. Both of them were awarded with Blackberry handsets with BB Service and Pro Plus for a year.
Gopal Chitrakar finished second in gross section scoring 162 points and Pradeep Kumar Shrestha came third with 142 points. In nett section, Tendi Sherpa took the runner up award with 221 points and 14-year-old Suryansh Chaudhary claimed the second runner up award with 220 points. The runners-up were awarded with ZTE Blade Android Smartphone with Pro Plus for a year. Similarly, the second runners-up got Ncell Connect data card with 1GB.
A total of eight events were played in the league that took place over four months--from February to May. Top six cards of each of the events were added to declare the winners in both sections. The winners of all the eight events in nett sections were given ZTE Blade Android Smartphone apiece.
Meanwhile, a lucky draw was also held during prize distribution ceremony among the 37 participants of the event. Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrid Ghimire and Captain Joseph Nathan won open-destination business class air tickets from Qatar Airways. Pasi Koistinen, the CEO of Ncell Pvt Ltd, Suneer PC, sales manager of Qatar Airways and Gokarna Golf Club President Suhrid Ghimire distributed prizes to the winners.
