POKHARA, June 2: Mega Bank has opened a counter for Branchless Banking Service in remote Bhalam VDC of Kaski bringing cheers to local people on Saturday. Mega has already opened such counters in seven different places across the country in a bid to enhance access of the local people to banking services.
“We are happy to get banking services at our doorsteps at a time when no bank and financial institutions were operating in our villages,” said Bharat Basnet, a local businessman.
Madan Kumar Acharya, director of the bank, said the service was initiated in line with the bank´s slogan ´Plough to Hydro´ to focus service on rural areas rather than becoming urban-centric.
