CHITWAN, June 14: An army person died in Rapti River while swimming on Wednesday .
Prakash Bista, 25, working at Kasara barrack of Chitwan National Park, was drowned while swimming at Raptighat, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan.
Bista, who fell unconscious after drowning in the River on Wednesday evening, died while undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Hospital, said police. The body has been kept at Bharatpur Hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, two persons were injured in a motorcycle accident at Katahar Chowk in Bharatpur-6.
Motorcycle rider Nutan Malla, 48, of Baidiknagar in Chitwan district and pillion rider Sonu Malla, 45, were injured when a motorcycle (Na 19 Pa 4131) and another motorcycle 1878 with alphabet unknown collided with each other.
Both the injured are undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College, said police.
