KATHMANDU, June 14: Dish Home, a DTH service provider, renewed co-sponsorship deal with Nepal Sports Journalists Forum (NSJF) for Pulsar Sports Award for the third time in a row, in the capital on Thursday.
As the co-sponsor of Sports Award to be held on July 4 at the Nepal Academy Hall, Dish Home will provide Rs 200,000 to NSJF and 13 smartbox, DTH devices and free connection worth Rs 78,000.
Smartbox will be conferred to each of the winner in all eight categories--player of the year male and female, youth player, coach, para athlete, lifetime achievement award, special award and popular player of the year. Five voters of popular player of the year through lucky draw picked through lucky draw will receive smartbox.
Dish Home CEO Rabindraman Shrestha and NSJF President Niranjan Ranbanshi signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions.
Pulsar, the automobile brand of Hansraj Hulaschand and Company, is the chief sponsor of the award.
The male and female player of the year will be given Pulsar Motorbike while winners of all other categories will be handed cash prize of Rs 30,000 along with gift hampers.
NSJF has already selected five nominees for the popular player of the year award: footballer Bharat Khawas, cricketer Shakti Gauchan, athlete Sabita Chaudhary, tennis player Aslesha Lissanevitch and volleyball player Ramila Tandukar.
According to organizer NSJF, nomination for four categories--player of the year male and female, youth player, coach of the year will be revealed shortly while the winners of special award, lifetime achievement award and para-athlete award will be disclosed during the award ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Dish Home´s CEO Shrestha said that the Sports Award was gaining new height with each passing year and thanked NSJF for providing the opportunity to co-sponsor the event. He also expressed commitment to support the program in the upcoming years.
