  FM consults Khanal on new budget

KATHMANDU, June 22: Finance Minister Barshaman Pun called on CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal at the latter’s residence in Dallu in his bid to get support from the UML chief for introducing the new fiscal budget forging political consensus.

During the meeting, Pun informed Khanal that the government is preparing to bring in a full-fledged budget in a manner acceptable to all political parties, the finance minister told the media after the meeting.

In response, Khanal told Pun to continue with technical aspects regarding the preparation of the new budget, adding that the top leaders would hold talks to see if they could agree on promulgating the new budget by this government.

In the government’s bid to forge consensus for new budget, Pun had met Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala on Thursday. He is scheduled to meet UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for the same on Saturday.
