KATHMANDU, June 22: There will be a public holiday in the Kathmandu valley on Sunday, June 24, on the occasion of the Machchhindranath Bhota Jatra (festival).
Spokesperson at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Shankar Koirala, informed Friday.
The Bhoto (vest) will be displayed after the arrival of President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav around 5:00 pm as a chief guest as there is no exact auspicious time of showing Bhoto of Machchhindranath, which is known as god of rain and good harvest, said Chief of Lalitpur Guthi Sansthan, Lekhnath Sapkota.
Officials of Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan city, Ashok Shrestha told RSS that necessary preparations to display the Bhoto have been completed.
