KATHMANDU, June 23: Tourism entrepreneurs of Ilam and Kaski districts have agreed to work jointly for tourism promotion. Entrepreneurs of both the district agreed to promote each other´s tourism campaign at a program organized in Pokhara, a press statement of Pashchimanchal Hotel Association Pokhara (PHAP) said.
The statement said entrepreneurs have also proposed a luxury coach from Pokhara to Pashupatinagar to boost tourism. A team of 47 tourism entrepreneurs led by Hotel Association of Ilam was in Pokhara to promote domestic tourism in Ilam.
Entrepreneurs launched the campaign called “Ilam Ghumau Jibanbhar Ramau”. Ilam has 385 hotels and around 65,000 tourists visit Ilam every year.
Likewise, around 300,000 tourists visited Pokhara during Nepal Tourism Year 2011. Speaking at the program, PHAP president Biplab Paudel said the number of domestic tourist had increased by 15 to 20 percent in Pokhara. Paudel expressed commitment to support Ilam based entrepreneurs to promote the district.
