  SPORTS BRIEFS: Scholarship for Bista

KATHMANDU, June 26: Kathmandu Barsha College announced scholarship for U-16 cricketer Akash Bista amidst a program in the capital on Tuesday. Bista, was adjudged man-of-the-series in the ACC U-19 Elite Cup cricket tournament held in Malaysia from May 4 to 13.

"It was our duty to help players like Bista, who has brought home glory," said Narendra Kumar Singh, the CEO of the college. "We came to know from media that Bista was in need of scholarship. Then, we talked to his family and took a decision to provide him scholarship," he added.

GoldenGate reaches semi

KATHMANDU: Host GoldenGate International College entered into the semifinal of the First Inter College Masters´ Science Basketball Tournament. GoldenGate thrashed NIST 46-20 on Tuesday in the boys´ section at its home court. Ganesh Katuwal scored 14 points for the winning team. Meanwhile, KCMS and Tri-Chandra College won their respective matches in the group stage of the tournament on Tuesday.
