KATHMANDU, June 26: The A and C teams of host Nobel Academy started the Third Nobel Cup U-19 3x3 National Basketball Tournament on a winning note in the boys´ section on Tuesday.
Nobel A edged past Gyan Niketan 15-10 while Nobel C defeated VS Niketan 15-13 at the National Sports Council Covered Hall, Tripureshwar.
Likewise, Premier B thrashed Trinity C 21-12 while GoldenGate A thumped Trinity B 15-5.
In other matches of the boys´ section, National B registered a 17-5 victory over GoldenGate B, Morgan beat Bern Hardt 21-6, GoldenGate C edged past Trinity A 12-11, Trinity C defeated National C 18-13, National A thrashed VS Niketan 21-12, Trinity A thrashed Times B 16-5 and Trinity B recorded a 16-7 victory over Times A.
Meanwhile, the A and C teams of Nobel Academy won their respective matches in the girls´ section. Nobel A defeated NASA B 12-8 and Bern Hardt 16-3 while Nobel C defeated Bern Hardt 9-3 on the opening day. However, Nobel B lost 15-4 to NASA A.
In other matches of the girls´ section, NASA B thrashed Bern Hardt 15-4 while Premier outclassed GoldenGate 15-3.
