  Man kills wife, daughter

RAJU ADHIKARI

JHAPA, June 27: A man has killed his wife and daughter following a domestic dispute in Jalthal Wednesday morning.

Shobha Manipure of Manipur, India currently staying with his in-laws in Jalthal hacked his wife Rewita, 30, with a sharp weapon and strangulated four-month daughter Sunita. Manipure then hit four-year-old son Arun´s head with the weapon.

Arun has sustained serious head injury and has been taken to Biratnagar for further treatment on referral of Om Sai Pathibhara Hospital. Shobha has been absconding after the murders.

Shobha and Rewita had marrried some seven years ago. Rewita was staying with her parents in Jalthal-4 for the past four months and he had come to Nepal in April to take her back to India. He had been working at a local tea estate while staying in Nepal. Locals claimed that the short-tempered Shobha used to frequently beat Rewita while in Jhapa.

Meanwhile, police have made details about his appearance public and urged people to inform police if they have any clue about the man who cannot speak Nepali.
