RSS

RUKUM, July 1: Per kilogram Yarchagumba has been sold at Rs 2.4 million in Rukum district this year.

The ´A´ grade Yarchagumba was sold at Rs 2.4 million from the place where it was collected, local trader Harka Bahadur Kami said. Yarchagumba collected in Rukum district was supplied to Kathmandu via Dunai, the district headquarters of Dolpa district.

Similarly, the ´B´ grade Yachagumba was sold at up to Rs 1.8 million, traders said. April to June is the peak season for Yarcha collection in the highlands.

Another trader Puniraj Gharti said that production of Yarchaguma sharply declined this year as compared to previous years. He said only 40 kgs Yarchaguma was collected in the district.

Traders said that Chinese businesspersons had come to the district in three chartered helicopters to purchase Yarchagumba but returned empty-handed after staying in the highlands for some days.

Ranmamaikot, Pupal, Arbija, Phoolbari, Guraha, Nimku, Kundala and other areas are famous for Yacha collection in Rukum district.
