KATHMANDU, July 11: Deepa Ale, reporter with the Sagarmatha Television from Banke district, has been hounoured with the Courageous Journalism Award 2012 on Wednesday.
Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav, Chairman of the Federation of Nepali Journalist Shiva Gaunle, and Television Chairman Nirmal Gurung jointly conferred the Award on Ale at a function organized to mark the 5th anniversary of the Television in the capital city.
The award was in recognition to Ale´s courage of reporting despite risks.
During the reporting, she was attacked by unknown person and left severely injured at Kohalpur on May 22, 2011
