BAGLUNG, July 13: Five houses have been swept away in landslides, triggered by incessant rain since Thursday night, in two different VDCs of Myagdi district on Friday morning.
Kaprasad Purja’s house and cowshed were swept away in a landslide in Dowa-9 of the district. Likewise, the houses of Nabin Pun and Chumaya Ramjali of the same VDC were also swept away in the landslide, Surad KC, president of the Baglung chapter of Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), who is currently in the incident site, said.
Also the houses of Gopal Pun and Dhane Pun of Bhurung Tatopani were swept away in another incident of landslide. The incessant rain has disrupted transportation along the Beni-Jomsom road section, the chief district officer of Myagdi, (CDO) Krishna Prasad Gyawali, said.
A team including CDO Gyawali and police are going to the incident site to take the stock of the situation. Further details have yet to come.
