PARASI, July 16: Two passengers and a tipper driver were killed and 38 injured when a bus collided with a tripper at Sunawal, Nawalparasi, on the East-West Highway Monday morning.
Thirty-eight passengers sustained injuries, five of them seriously, in the accident. The tripper driver died on the spot while two passengers critically injured died while undergoing treatment, the area police said.
The bus with registration plate Na 3 Kha 5090 was heading toward Kathmandu from Dailekh when it collided head on with the tripper (Na 4 Kha 1141) coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased include the tripper driver, 40-year-old Puran Prasad Pathak of Naubise-3, Dhading, and passengers, 30-year-old Ananta Adhikari of Pasang-6, Kalikot district and another unidentified man.
The 38 injured are undergoing treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital in Butwal.
