CHITWAN, July 17: Patients at different hospitals are facing problem as all services other than emergency remain closed on Tuesday as well.

Doctors have closed all services except the emergency service at the hospitals in the district since Sunday in protest against the increasing incidents of assault and misbehaviour towards them and the hospital staff in recent days and also calling for their security.

A meeting is planned for this morning whether to resume the services, said Krishna Prasad Paudel, the Nepal Medical Association Chitwan chapter Secretary.

Paudel said they were compelled to closing the services as attacks against the doctors and medical staff escalated in recent days and there is lack of security of doctors.

A deputation of the patients and their relatives met with the Chief District Officer of Chitwan district on Monday and urged him to take steps to have the hospital services resumed.
