Extreme leftist thought behind dissolution of CA: Khanal

KIRTIPUR, July 22: Chairman of the CPN-UML, Jhala Nath Khanal has said that the extreme leftist thought was the main cause of dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA) without promulgating constitution.
Khanal made this remark at a program organized on Sunday by Pushpalal Memorial Foundation on the occasion of the 34th Memorial Day of Founding General Secretary of the Nepal Communist Party, Pushpa Lal Shrestha.
He said that guidelines from Pushpa Lal have played a great role in historic revolts and achievements made in the country since 2007 BS.
Chairman of the Foundation, Madhav Kumar Nepal, said that contribution made by Pushpa Lal for liberation of the Nepali people will always be immortal.
Stating that thoughts of Pushpa Lal of establishing independent and prosperous Nepal— are relevant at present also, he stressed on moving ahead by adopting his thoughts and guidelines.
On the occasion, Chairman Khanal, Senior leader Nepal, Vice-Chairman Bamdev Gautam, General Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel, Secretaries Yubraj Gyawali and Shankar Pokhrel, leader Amrit Bohara, among others, had garlanded on the statue of Pushpa Lal located at Pushpa Lal Memorial Park, Champadevi in Kirtipur.
Meanwhile, in Dhading, leaders in the district said that Pushpa Lal was a true nationalist who was never deviated from the Communist principles and thoughts though various communist factions had blamed him.
Paying tribute to Pushpa Lal at a program organized by CPN-UML, Dhading, on the occasion of Pushpa Lal Memorial Day, members of the National Representatives´ Council, Ram Prasad Adhikary and Januka Sinkhada, District Secretary of the Nepali Congress, Bhakta Bahadur Lama, District In-charge of the CPN-Maoist, Sher Bahadur Bhandari, among others, also expressed their views.
They said that there is a need of statesmen for forwarding the country by uniting all in the context that the country´s politics is in uncertainty after the death of leaders like BP Koirala, Pushpa Lal, Girija Prasad Koirala, Ganeshman Singh, Manmohan Adhikary and Madan Bhandari and expressed the confidence that co-work between communists and democrats would only resolve the political crisis.
