POKHARA, July 29: The doctors have shut down medical services for an indefinite period at the Manipal Hospital in Pokhara to press for their demands, on Sunday.
Dr Dipak Koirala, a doctor at the hospital, said they have halted all services, except emergency, as the management remained apathetic towards their ‘genuine’ concerns that they have been raising over the last one year.
They have put forth demands, including an increment in their salaries that have stalled since the last two-and a-half-years.
Hundreds of patients who reached hospital today have returned home without treatment. The doctors have even denied looking into follow-up reports of the patients already undergoing treatment at the hospital.
