Lack of doctors hit Karnali Hospital

RSS

JUMLA, July 29: Patients visiting the Karnali Hospital, Jumla have been deprived of treatment due to the absence of doctors.

Though many patients flock to the hospital daily in need of treatment, the hospital has no necessary human resources. The hospital refers the patients to Nepalgunj for treatment.

The hospital has been hit hard due to lack of human sources after Dr Jeevan Pariyar, Dr Shiva Shrimal and health professionals Biplab Sapkota, Pawan Hamal and Milan Khadka left the district.

One Bikram Bahadur Shahi of Kudar-5 was brought to the hospital following stomach-related problems to him and the hospital had referred him to Nepalgunj. But, he died at the Nepalgunj-based Kohalpur Hospital. It is said Shahi had died due to lack of timely treatment.

Besides, patients have to wait for many days to get air tickets to Nepalgunj from the district. Many patients are in a queue at the airport in hope of getting plane tickets.
