KATHMANDU, Aug 1: On the occasion of the International Youth Day 2012 (IYD 2012), the National Youth Federation Nepal is teaming up with The Image Park and HeartBeat and organizing a photo contest with the theme ‘Youth in Positive Action’.
“The theme of this contest has been chosen in accordance with the international theme assigned for IYD 2012,” says Lok Raj Awasthi, General Secretary of National Youth Federation Nepal. ‘Building a Better World: Partnering with Youth’ is the international theme for IYD 2012. “We want the photograph submissions to reflect the positive work that our youth have been doing in various fields in order to bring a change in our society,” he adds.
Endorsed by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the contest requires the participants to submit a maximum of two photographs of more than 1 MB each in size.
According to the organizers, the 25 best entries will get special gifts, a privilege card from Photo Concern and a certificate of participation while one winner will be given the opportunity to become the Youth Ambassador of HeartBeat, an NGO which through the involvement of the youth, conducts social activities in diverse sectors of the country. A free Digital Photography Workshop from The Image Park and a gift from New Snapper Photo are also part of the winner’s prize.
The photo submission deadline is set for August 20, 2012. Photos are to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org along with a caption and byline, name and contact number.
