KATHMANDU, Aug 2: District presidents of the Nepali Congress (NC) on Thurday met with President Sushil Koirala, and demanded that NC take the leadership for the resolution of the present political crisis.
They after returning from the Second National Gathering held in Barhabise of Sindhupalchowk, requested Koirala to move ahead by removing weaknesses seen in the party to make the organization stronger.
They also familiarized Koirala about the declaration approved by the Gathering and stressed on its implementation.
After the meeting, Nuwakot District President of NC, Jagadish Narsingh KC said that they suggested Koirala on the resolution of the country´s existing constitutional crisis, implementation of Barhabise declaration and strengthening of organization.
KC said Koirala directed them to expand organization in the villages in unison.
Koirala said that he will make corrections if he has made any mistakes in the party and if there are weaknesses, but that they should speak if others have made such mistakes, said KC quoting Koirala.
Stating that the NC is always active in resolving the political stalemate seen after the dissolution of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Koirala said that there is no alternative to consensus, unity and reconciliation.
District presidents of the five development regions met Koirala where they suggested the president to direct for removing difficulties in statute implementation by using the article of statute after calling a general committee meeting.
The District Presidents drew the attention of Koirala saying farmers could not get fertilizers at the time of cultivation, price hike has increased rapidly and condition of law and order has been weak.
