POKHARA, Aug 4: Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala on Saturday reiterated that his party should lead the next government.
He argued that NC should be given the leadership as the former governments led by UCPN (Maoist) and CPN-UML have failed to work for the nation.
Speaking at an inauguration program of the national level training of NC district secretaries, Koirala also claimed that his party led national consensus government would end the ongoing political crisis in the country.
On the occasion, NC chief Koirala also demanded the immediate resignation of the Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
Saying that the incumbent government has failed in the series of issues including constitution drafting and army integration, among others, Koirala warned of toppling the Bhattarai-led government from the street if PM refused to resign voluntarily.
He also accused the incumbent care taker government of embezzling national coffer.
On the occasion, President Koirala expressed his dissatisfaction over president Ram Baran Yadav for not seeking alternative to the current government.
