KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Nepali sprinter Tilak Ram Tharu missed out on qualifying for the second round of the heats by whiskers during the men’s 100 m race of the London Olympics on Saturday.
Tharu completed the race in 10.85 seconds to finish 13th out of 29 sprinters, according to the results published by Reuters.
However, only ten qualified for the next round.
Among the ten qualifiers, Gerard Kobeane from Burkina Faso finished first with a timing of 10.42 seconds while the 10th place was taken by Fernando Lumain (10.80 s) from Indonesia.
