  Nepali band at the Fuji Rock Festival

KATHMANDU, Aug 5: Upendra and friends took the stage and have performed in front of 150,000 audiences at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan.

The three day long festival, which took place from July 27 to 29, saw world famous bands like Radio Head, The Stone Roses, Buddy Guy, Elvis Costello, Seun Kuti and Ms. Hiromi perform during the event.



Fuji Rock Festival which takes place every year is organized by Smash Japan and feature more 100 Japanese and international musicians, making it the largest outdoor music even in Japan. In 2005, the event saw more than 100,000 people attending the shows.

Representing Nepal for the first time in the Rock Festival, along with the international acts, Upendra and Friends, a fusion band, also performed during the event.

The band is now scheduled to perform at two more gigs in Yokohama city in Japan itself
